Looking for something a little different during your ski vacation in Park City this year? Here are a few of Park City’s top 2018 winter events that will help you get to know the town just as well as you know the mountain:
Celebrate the holidays by heading to SnowFest, a 16-day winter festival including après ski musical acts, village entertainers and more from December 16 – 31, 2017. Santa will be making an appearance on the Town Lift for the little ones. You’ll also get to experience the annual torchlight parade and a variety of other local flair the whole family will love.
The Sundance Film Festival
The annual Sundance Film Festival in Park City takes place January 18 – 28, 2018, and unites storytellers together with audiences for dramatic and documentary films, shorts, performances, panel discussions and music events. Since 1985, hundreds of films launched at the Festival have gained critical recognition, received commercial distribution and reached worldwide audiences eager for fresh perspectives and new voices.
This year is the 11th annual Spring Grüv. Starting on March 24, 2018, there will be 16 days of huge, free concerts in the two villages, as well as the 22nd Annual Pond Skimming Contest! The Pond Skimming Contest is Park City's most popular party and is the true indicator that spring has arrived. Contestants must dress in costume (the funkier the better) as they attempt to cross a 100-foot pond on skis or a snowboard. The pond and the excitement happen at mid-mountain just outside Red Pine Lodge.
Stay in a Park City vacation rental home to cross skimming across the pond off your bucket list.
