Green leaves change to vivacious reds and bright oranges, as temperatures become brisk and long summer nights shorten into fall evenings. Nature is preparing itself for glistening snow falls and the soon-to-be hibernating critters. But in between the two distinct seasons, there are plenty of options for fall fun in and surrounding the Whistler area:
Pumpkin Picking & Wagon Rides at Northarm Farm
Family-owned and operated, Northarm Farm has been open for business since 1995. The Sturdy family practices organic methodology on this 60-acre farm, which features Mount Currie as its backdrop. Open seasonally for “You Pick” berries and pumpkins, the farm offers plenty of variety for all ages. On weekends from late September to late October, pumpkin harvesting and wagon riding are at your disposal. Bring your loved ones out for some fall fun.
Vallea Lumina is Whistler’s newest (as of summer 2018) and exciting twilight visual attraction from The Adventure Group. This quirky sport consists of combining golf tactics and Frisbee into one sport – meet Disc Golf, aka FROLF. The aim of the game consists of throwing your disc toward a metal basket structure of chains and metal in the least amount of throws possible. Available for purchase at Nesters Liquor store, grab yourself a disc golf Frisbee and make your way just behind Scandinave Spa toward the 27-hole Spruce Grove Disc Golfing Course. Stop by Riverside Café for a scrumptious breakfast or lunch beforehand. Be warned: being in an outdoor setting, wherever the disc lands you must throw from that specific location – minimal trees harmed in the process!
Tree Top Adventure Course
Want a bit of a challenge? Tree Top Adventure Course features 70 varied obstacles ranging from beginner to advanced levels, which include balance beams, rope swings and elevated platforms to name a few. Tree Top Adventure will fuel your inner child with its elevated obstacle course in Whistler’s lush forests on Cougar Mountain. Get ready to jump, balance and soar with The Adventure Group.
Walking along the village stroll can be a sport on its own! Ducking through crowds of people, keeping a sharp eye for the shops you wish to find, and entering the shops at your own discretion. Whistler has plenty of retail stores ranging from Whistler souvenir-like regalia, activity-inspired clothing, rental shops, eateries –you name it, they’ve got it. Cobblestone pathways ensure easy on-foot access to local shops and offer glimpses at the gorgeous fall foliage.
