As the second most visited ski resort in Colorado, Breckenridge is known as a playground for snow and nature lovers. The town’s 31 lifts take skiers and snowboarders up to five peaks that provide nearly 3,000 acres of ski-able terrain. However, there is more to Breckenridge than just its famed mountains.
We caught up with Cameron Barrie, fly-fishing guide and artist by day and manager of RMU Tavern by night, to find out where the locals hang out. Read on for the best of Breckenridge’s restaurants, no matter the occasion:
Best restaurant for date night:
Barrie: This is a hard one because there are so many great restaurants in Breck! My favorite would be Blue River Bistro – great happy hour twice a day, live jazz and a romantic atmosphere.
Best restaurant for a family night out:
Barrie: Downstairs at Eric's for sure; there are tons of great options for food along with a super fun arcade. Great for catching sports games as well!
Best spot to go with friends:
Barrie: Ollie’s Pub in Breck has a fun, upbeat feeling when you walk in. It’s a great spot to catch happy hour with friends!
Best spot for après ski:
Barrie: Though I may be biased, RMU Tavern is a great local spot to hang out and enjoy some of the finest specialty cocktails and draft beer. With an incredible sunset patio, RMU is a ski shop and bar that shares an awesome vibe with the community.
Best spot for Sunday brunch:
Barrie: I would have to say Columbine Cafe; their brunch menu is huge and delicious! Also, it’s smack dab in the center of town.
